San Clemente Has More RattleSnakes Being Found

Maybe it is simply a case of more people encroaching on wilderness and grassy areas, but lately there have been a lot or dangerous rattlesnakes popping up amidst our valuable San Clemente real estate.

And while humans getting bitten by snakes is pretty bad, it may cost you up to $7,500 just to save your dog's life if it's bitten by a rattler. That's what it cost Sandrea and Barry Silverman when their dog was bitten in their front yard at Forster Ranch.

What with the vet bills and costs for vials of anti-venom at $800 a pop, plus an overnight in a dog emergency hospital and a blood transfusion...Yikes!

So be very careful. When walking through a wild or grown up area, be sure to walk with a walking stick and keep your pets close to you on a short leash.

Point-of-Sale Bill is a Big Win for Homeowners

Thank You to the Thousands of REALTORS®
Who Contacted their Legislators to Oppose the Bill!

The California Association of Realtors initially OPPOSED AB 2678 (Núñez) because it effectively would have required, among other things, that ALL homes and commercial property in California have an energy audit at point-of-sale, and that mandatory energy efficiency investments be made. While C.A.R. appreciates the goal of energy conservation, C.A.R. strongly opposes point-of-sale requirements because they are ineffective and because such mandates will weaken the housing market. If enacted as introduced AB 2678 could have added even tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of purchasing a home.

After thousands of REALTORS® called their legislators in opposition to the bill and thousands more lobbied against the bill in person last week at Legislative Day, the bill’s author amended AB 2678 to remove the point-of-sale requirement. The bill was further amended at C.A.R.’s request, to ensure that energy audits or improvements are not required as a condition of sale. With these changes, C.A.R. SUPPORTS AB 2678.

This is a BIG WIN for REALTORS® and their clients. Thank you for helping make this Red Alert a big success.

San Clemente's new Golf Clubhouse is Terrific

Irons in the Fire is so spacious and has a big ballroom for rental.

Have you been out to the Irons in the Fire Restaurant at the San Clemente Municipal golf course yet?

Well, you should go. This great new restaurant which opened in December, 2007, sits on a very valuable piece of San Clemente real estate.

This restaurant and its huge meeting room and surrounding outdoor patio dining tables overlooking the golf course is a joy to visit. Food is terrific and Orange County Realtors like me find it a terrific place to unwind and have a Bourbon and ginger, my favorite hard drink.

I love to go there with my san clemente marketing consulting husband Bill Koelzer. The lighting is so subtle and soft and dreamy.

One of the terrific outdoor covered patios at Irons in the Fire.
